The Cyprus Pink Slip, officially known as the Temporary Residence Permit for Visitors, allows non-EU nationals to legally reside in Cyprus for more than 90 days without the right to work. The permit is valid for one year and can be renewed annually, provided that the applicant continues to meet the required criteria.
Family members (spouse and children under 18) may also be included as dependents and are issued individual residence cards.
A significant advantage of the Pink Slip is that a third-country national who resides legally and continuously in Cyprus for five years may qualify for long-term resident status, while those who remain eight years may become eligible to apply for Cypriot citizenship.
What Is the Cyprus Pink Slip?
The Pink Slip allows visitors from non-EU countries to stay in Cyprus without work authorization.
All family members submit separate applications, but the process takes place simultaneously for the entire family unit.
Pink Slip Restrictions
- Applicants must not remain outside Cyprus for more than three consecutive months, otherwise the permit is cancelled.
- No right to work in Cyprus.
- Available exclusively to non-EU nationals seeking to extend their stay in the country.
How Long Is the Pink Slip Valid?
The Pink Slip is valid for 12 months and may be renewed each year.
If the applicant’s passport expires earlier, the permit will expire three months before the passport’s expiry date.

To qualify for a temporary residence permit, applicants must demonstrate:
